Ingredients:
-
1 large apple
-
12 Medjool Dates, pitted
-
¼ cup nut butter of your choice
-
½ cup milk chocolate chips
-
1 tsp coconut oil
-
¼-½ cup Maple Activated Native Texas Pecans
Instructions:
-
Start by preparing the dates. Remove the pits (if not already pitted) and line them up, side-by-side, on a sheet of plastic wrap.
-
Lay a piece of parchment paper over them and gently roll with a rolling pin until they’re as flat as possible.
-
Remove the parchment and place your apple right in the center.
-
Fold the dates tightly around the apple, pressing with your hands.until the entire apple is covered and smooth. Then, gently remove the plastic wrap.
-
Stick a popsicle stick or skewer into the top and spoon or drizzle your chosen nut butter all over the date-covered apple, letting it coat evenly. Set this in the fridge for 15 minutes.
-
While the nut butter sets, chop the activated pecans and melt your chocolate.
-
Add your chocolate chips and coconut oil to a heat safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds- stirring halfway or double boil - stirring continuously.
-
Coat the apple in the chocolate. You can do this by pouring over a wire rack or using a big bowl to dip the apple.
-
Sprinkle your chopped activated pecans over the top before it sets.
-
Transfer the apple to the fridge for 1 hour, or until the chocolate hardens.
-
Once the chocolate has hardened, remove the apple from the fridge. Cut it into slices, then serve and enjoy guilt-free!
